Dear Diary,
I got this chair upholstered for a client. I had it covered in glamourous navy blue velvet and now I’m obsessed with it. The kind of obsessed where I want to wait outside its apartment to see if it walks out, just so I can ask it for its autograph. Would it be rude to steal it back from the client?
Love,
Orlando
That’s a linen? Looks almost like a velvet or a fabric suede. Blue isn’t for me–philosophical objections prevent–but yeah! That chair came out nice. In a nice red–even better!
Rude? yes! Understandable?YES! You should have kept this chair, it is divine! It really does look like velvet.
It does look velvet… who cares, it’s my very favorite color. It’s gorg. I kind of want to stalk it too. :/
Oh, what a lovely chair – do steal it 🙂
Orlando,
I am so glad the upholstery is linen and not velvet… when I was a boy my mother covered everything in velvet… sofas, chair, drapes… my little sisters… it got a bit cloying. To me linen is classically luxuriant without the stuffiness that sometimes happens with velvet. And I love how deep and rich this blue is… my only criticism is that it overwhelms the light finish of the legs. They don’t look as refreshed as does the rest of the chair now. And I like the nail heads… the legs would be great if they were gold as well… and the whole effect would stunning…
Yaaaa…. I have literally asked clients if I could invite myself over to visit their furniture. Not visit the client but their FURNITURE. At least I’m not the only one with attachment issues. Great work!
Yum! Love that you put in the prices & links …. not that I’m a) a bachelor, or b) cool enough to buy any of these pieces, but it gives me a great reason to procrastinate. Because, of course, I need another reason.
